:- 3.0 out of 5 stars from Pollyanna -- My Honest Opinion : I like Collen's stories, they are clean and free of too many references about sexual encounters. However, I do have a problem with her using the word "vomit" so frequently. While I am very much aware that people do "vomit", I fail to see the necessity for using that particular word so often. It is reasonable to hear it sometime, but there are many other ways to describe this bodily function. Maybe the word was not in this particular novel, but I have about seven or more, and that word has been used entirely too frequently. The stories are good, exciting, and somewhat educational as far as learning about different parts of our beautiful country, but please Colleen, don't be so graphic about the unpleasant side of life. I know it exists, but we don't have to be constantly reminded. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2017 )
- 4.0 out of 5 stars from BooksthruBifocals -- Does my heart remember? : I enjoyed the book: Each of the characters had his or her own insecurities to work on and the storyline was interesting. I'd never read a mystery based on cell memory in a transplant patient, and Coble introduced some fascinating possibilities of how heart transplant could conceivably affect the recipient. She avoided any hint of eastern mysticism; the viewpoint was solidly mainstream Christian, as were the protagonists without sermonizing. The plot was intricate but I felt that many of the characters had too much of a prior history with each other. I confess at times my ability to "suspend disbelief" was stretched. For example, the significant number of people on the cruise who knew each other or one of the other characters or whose circumstances made them a suspect. I've reada lot of C.C.'s works and she is one of my favorite authors. Once again, she has created an entertaining read, that leaves her reader's something to "chew" on. I recommend this mystery to YA and older readers. I understand from reading other reviews that despite the fact this book can be read as a stand-alone, it is more enjoyable if the first two books are read first. I look forward to reading them also. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Jennifer Berry -- Saved The Best For Last : I enjoyed this final book in the series the most. The story had danger, action, and suspense which kept me reading to find answers to all the mysteries. I also liked the secondary story from the past within the main story. Elin’s cell memory experience was interesting, and I enjoyed the second chance for Marc and Elin. I think I would have liked for the two to have a more in depth discussion about the past. I also found myself left with some minor questions but that didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment of the story. I was glad that a secondary romance takes place that was carried over from the last book. ( Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2019 )
- 4.0 out of 5 stars from Taymeper -- Another 'Can't put down' book! : Suspense, intrigue, multiple story lines, and breathtaking romance once again create an exciting and fascinating trip through the quaint and picturesque shores of Virginia Beach. I am not a history buff but loved the interwoven life of Georgina, Laura, and Elin. It has left me desperately thirsting for more! ( Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2020 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kindle Customer -- Whatever your challenge, God is there to see you through, & He gives you friends to stand by your side so you are never alone. : What fun this series is to read! Each one is a different family with different issues to face. The writer's Christian attitude shines through which adds such joy to the story. The characters are always so well developed that at the end of each story you feel like you know them. I thought cell memories from a transplant were just story, & then last week I met someone who had stem cell transplant & how it changed her life. Allergies went away, new ones arrived; she hated peanut butter before now it is her favorite; her blond hair became brown. It almost sounded like she had been reading the book. who would expect to learn that kind of thing in a murder mystery? So many lessons about trust, & it's importance in our lives. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Lynne Young -- Twists and Turns On Every Page! : This is a sink your teeth into book right from the first page! I could not put it down. I kept turning pages to see what happens next until I ran out of pages to turn, somewhere around 3 AM this morning. But it was well worth it. I read the entire book in one sitting. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kendra Waldriff -- Seagrass Pier : I don't know how it's possible, but it seems every Colleen Coble book I read gets better and better! Seagrass Pier is the 3rd book in The Hope Beach Series, and my favorite one! This one introduces us to yet some new characters on the island, and another mystery to be solved. I loved the plot in this one! Elin works for a company that helps match organ donors with those who need an organ. And she herself has received a heart from someone, but strange things start happening! She begins to have memories of the person whose heart she received! Awesome, but very creepy! I loved this book! I was so sad to see this series end, but I know Colleen will have more wonderful books coming my way soon, so I will just have to look forward to the next one! Read this whole series and I dare you to not love it and not stay up WAY past your bedtime because they are impossible to put down! :) ( Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2015 )
